DigiSkills.pk has conducted a panel discussion of WordPress Second Batch on 9th February 2019, under the umbrella of Virtual University of Pakistan. WordPress Subject Matter Expert (SME) Mr. Saad Hamid and Industry experts Mr. Salman Saeed and Mr. Zeeshan Khalid were invited to talk about latest trends about different skills in WordPress. The purpose of this Panel discussions was to enhance trainee’s engagement and further increase the outreach of this project. The main points of discussion were sharing tips and tricks of getting orders in WordPress category on freelancing marketplaces, developing WordPress skills, future of WordPress and benefits of WordPress for developers.
Saad Hamid
Over 13+ years of experience in WordPress development, deployment, management and services and top-rated freelancer on Upwork.
Saad Hamid is a technology entrepreneur and digital ecosystem builder based at the National Incubation Center Pakistan as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR). He is the CEO of DEMO which provides consultancy, trainings, services and research in impact-driven verticals.
Saad has previously been affiliated with Invest2Innovate which is a premier accelerator for startups and served as the Country Representative for Upwork.com. His has over 10 years of experience in digital marketing, startup consulting, innovation management, design thinking, digital strategy, brand development, community impact and training and he has had opportunity to work with TED, WEF, IDEO, UNICEF, UNDP, Upwork, World Bank, UKAid, Telenor and Mobilink on various projects and initiatives related to community building, ICTs for Development, E-solutions & Freelancing, Digital Marketing and Design Thinking.
Salman Saeed
Salman Saeed is a branding expert, digital marketer and a serial entrepreneur with an experience of 8+ years in the field. He has worked with organizations like TED, Google, McDonalds, HTC, Acer, Porsche, Braun, and Mercedes in the capacity of marketing strategies, content creation, and mobilization.
He has also worked with the government of Pakistan in developing a structure for their projects that help in nurturing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. Salman has run his company in Dubai for 5 years but is back in Pakistan now with his new projects and is currently the Chief Innovation Officer at Transact Technologies. He has worked as a TEDx curator when he organized certain events of TEDxRawalLake.
He also acted as the Google Business Group Manager in Dubai and is the Founding Curator of Global Shapers Hub (which is an initiative of World Economic Forum) in Peshawar where he works on initiatives that focus on community building, urbanization, gender equality as well as the SDG goals. He is known for his blogs and initiatives like Khan Meter.
Zeeshan Khalid
Zeeshan Khalid is a Fiverr Pro seller in WordPress and web development category (workinnovate) and a top-rated freelancer on PeoplePerHour. As well as that, he is also a Master Trainer at PITB’s E-Rozgaar program.
He started freelancing via direct clients in 2011, and to further broaden his client base, he signed up on PeoplePerHour in 2015. Within a year he was Top Rated on PeoplePerHour and was featured on their platform for holding 2nd spot in development category. He is currently spreading his knowledge to the masses by being a Master Trainer at Punjab government’s E-Rozgaar Program.
