Motive of DigiSkills.pk

DigiSkills.pk comes with the fact that it is one of the largest online training platforms in Pakistan. It is initiated by the Ministry of IT & Telecom, funded by Ignite and executed by Virtual University of Pakistan that offers the best free online courses in freelancing skills. It comes with global online verified E-Certificates issued by Virtual University (VU) worldwide.

Now, the question is why did the government commence this free-of-cost initiative with such a large step toward contributing to the economy? And the clear answer is that the motive behind the execution of DigiSkills is to promote freelancing in Pakistan, with a strong vision of financial stability for the layman, which will contribute to economic stability in the future. The. The urge didn’t stop there; it aimed to encourage the youth to move toward freelance earning and to make them realize the importance of developing a mindset focused on growth and improving their standard of living while understanding the challenges of a developing country.

The Pakistani people have been given a static mindset about earning from our ancestors for years, which is “to find the right job.” Yes, it is a good decision but approached in the wrong way. You should aim to get the right job but not be a slave to your work. Our motto is:

How DigiSkills Evolved Since Its Inception:Unfolding the Journey

Each tree flourishes from a tiny bean. Likewise, DigiSkills is an aviary, serving as a shelter for aspiring freelance earners. It started back in 2018 with a small setup, including a limited staff, basic courses, simple portal features, and limited tech assistance. However, they had the ambition to grow it into a vast platform to benefit the maximum number of people. We don’t compromise on quality. To teach people freelancing in different fields, we opted to find well trained SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) and potential Coaches (Trainers) who have a proven history in freelancing or expertise in the relevant field, solely to provide trainees with the best possible knowledge and guidance. After months of efforts from the marketing team, trainers’ performance, and management skills, we gained recognition countrywide. We gradually achieved what we set out to accomplish.

We started DigiSkills 1.0 with four high-demand courses, including Freelancing, Digital Marketing, Digital Literacy, and E-Commerce. By Batch 3, we launched six additional courses: SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Graphic Design, WordPress, Creative Writing, QuickBooks, and AutoCAD. In DigiSkills 2.0, we introduced five new courses aligned with the ongoing freelance market demand: Affiliate Marketing, Virtual Assistant, Communication and Soft Skills, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, and Video Editing, Animation & Vlogging. Now, in DigiSkills 3.0, we have introduced a new course “Startup Strategies and Entrepreneurship”, and more are on the way. We are now offering a total of 16 courses that can truly shape your future.

A user-friendly LMS portal was introduced with a flexible mode of learning and a minimum threshold level for achieving the target to earn an e-certificate. It mainly consists of Watching Videos (50% of the overall score), Quizzes (40%), and Hands-on Exercises (10%). You can track your daily progress and get instant results. Not a single journey can gain recognition without real facts and figures. If you are not achieving any output after long and consistent hard work, it’s all in vain in the end. We hit 30,804 enrollments in the very first batch of DigiSkills 1.0, consisting of 11 batches in total, with a closing figure of around 1,500,000 enrollments. This clearly reflected the vision and potential of how far the program could go. DigiSkills 2.0, which consisted of 8 batches, achieved 2,100,000 enrollments. Recently, we closed DigiSkills 3.0 Batch-01 with 317,000 enrollments, and the enrollments for Batch-02 are currently in process.

The stats haven’t ended here. Out of this large number of enrollments, we found gems who graduated from this platform and have generated remarkable earnings from different freelancing platforms. We contacted them and offered to publish their verified earnings and success stories on monthly basis since 2022 with us. We recorded a total of 1,457 verified earnings, with the highest earnings being $520,693. This achievement doesn’t only come from the male segment of society but also includes a high ratio of contributions from female graduates.
